Ink for Heroes

Ink for heroes was held at York race course on 21st and 22nd June the whole weekend had a good atmosphere. Here is what BLK Powder got up to while they were there…

The tattoo convention did a great job of raising money for Help for Heroes they came up with lots of fundraising ideas such as Ink for heroes tees, vests, cups and ale for sale all raising money to help for heroes. We loved the Taxidermy on show sold by Pete from Big Als. There was lots of fun in the kids corner with face painting and drawing so they could enter design a tattoo competition. They also had all the trophy’s on display for all the competitions they held at the show, small ones for the children competition and one for the best hotrod and one for the best bike. The food was great at the show they had Sizzlers Burgers keeping everyone fed and watered not to mention the treats they had to offer by The Cake Lady and ice cream! An onsite beer tent kept the big kids happy while watching the live bands. It was great to see the Zee Team Events as they were zombieing all weekend. It was very funny to watch the reactions of the general public towards the made up zombies. The Zee Team raised money by letting people have photos with them which was great news for Help For Heroes!
We officially have a name for our BLK Powder masco… it’s Ickerobd!!! Thank you to everyone who made a donation at the show on the weekend we managed to raise £15.30 at 10p a suggestion. Thank you to Beth who picked the winner out of the bucket.

It was great to see that Sonny Mitchell – one of our sponsored artists – win Best of Day Sunday and Best Small Black and Grey with Ray Charles tattoo and won best Military with HRH The Queen.

A BIG thank you from BLK Powder! See you next time
